Scott is a native of the Coachella Valley, giving him a genuine knowledge of the people and its culture. After graduating from the University of Southern California, he spent several years as a commercial real estate broker and later obtained a Master of Real Estate Development degree at his alma mater. His next seven years were as a home builder / land developer here in the desert. Since retiring from the business in 2005, his interest in the craft brewing industry grew. After several years of home brewing, Scott dreamed of starting a microbrewery in the desert. The dream became a reality in early 2013 when he founded La Quinta Brewing Co. He currently lives in La Quinta with his wife of 22 years and two children.
Derek is a Southern California native that spent much of his early years in the Seattle area. It was in the Pacific Northwest where his passion for craft beer originated. After graduating from the University of Washington, Derek immediately became involved in the food & beverage industry. Most recently, he was a Vice President at Young’s Market Co. overseeing wine, spirits and beer sales for the Coachella Valley. After a successful 10 year career with the company, Derek joined the LQBC team as the Director of Sales and partner. He currently lives in Palm Desert with his wife of 20 years and their two children.
Born in Canada, Ryan spent his younger years in Montana before moving to Southern California. He began home brewing in 2006, and in 2017 joined the LQBC team on the production crew. Ryan gained extensive working knowledge and completed brewing courses at The Siebel Institute of Technology. In 2022 Ryan was promoted to Head Brewer where he oversees production of our full lineup of beers. He prides himself on innovation and the pursuit of the latest in industry methods. Ryan favors strong, but drinkable brews and you can often find him in the taproom after a shift chatting with customers about his efforts to deliver excellence in craft beer.
